Aramex helps Budget Pet Products deliver urgent supplies to Northern Rivers
A collaboration between Budget Pet Products and the Aramex Gold Coast depot is helping the flood relief effort in Northern NSW, with donated bottled water and pet food being delivered daily to communities needing these essential supplies.
After seeing news reports of animals suffering in the floods, Aramex Gold Coast partnered with its long-term customer, Budget Pet Products, who agreed to donate two cages (1,500kg) of pet food. Aramex quickly dispatched the pet food along with 4,500 bottles of water, to its Lismore depot as part of its first of many deliveries.
According to Karla Vanderpool from Budget Pet Products, “A key reason we started this business was to help ensure pets received better care but unfortunately during a disaster, relief efforts for animals often take a back seat to humanitarian efforts. Yet the unconditional love that pets provide owners is essential to many people’s recovery and well-being.”
As a courier company, Aramex is committed to supporting local businesses and communities throughout the country, particularly when emergency response is critical. “Despite access difficulties and road closures as a result of these devastating floods, we have been pleased that these essentials are getting to the people that need them most,” said Aramex Gold Coast regional franchisee, Steve Curtis. “We are leveraging our extended network to ensure the donated packages are identified as soon as they arrive so they can be distributed as quickly as possible.”
